Yeah, I'm not surprised. Several applications assume 516-byte destinations with null certificates.
In the bittorrent world, there's the tracker and client dests, and the tracker and client apps. Many of the bittorrent trackers and clients don't support names (example.i2p) in the .torrent files or announces either. IIRC i2psnark converts tracker names to base 64 in the .torrent files specifically for Azureus compatibility.
